The "yellow" on this one is actually a gold shimmery color...Lily says its her favorite one even though I would have thought for SURE this pink one would have been her favorite:
Next up I am planning a bedroom makeover (hence the mention of painting my room yellow) I found a brown and greyish blue rug at Target on clearance (75% off a $200 dollar rug...not too shabby!!) and a brown duvet cover for my bed...I bought some super cute matching fabric to applique some flowers to my duvet and then I made this little beauty to go on my bed:

It around 18"x10" and the yellow matches my walls...Its so pretty!! My good crafty friend Lisa found this tutorial and made one for herself and I couldn't resist making one for myself too...it was MUCH easier to make than I thought it would be!! (I think I want to make another one!...)

This past week in Porter's school they have been focusing on books and reading and so they had a day where students could dress up as their favorite character from a book...I asked Porter who he wanted to dress up as and he couldn't think of one that was his favorite, but then I got a brilliant (if I do say so myself) idea...Porter LOVES this series of books featuring this pigeon:
If you've never read one you should because they are pretty funny and the kids get to say "NO!" to things the pigeons ask.....so silly! Anyway, so after a run to the store for some blue felt and iron on letters here is my version:
(I had taken a bunch of pictures by this point...he looks thrilled doesn't he?? )

And a close up...the speech bubble says "Hey, can I drive the bus?"...Porter LOVED it...he was so excited to wear it to school...I was quite proud of myself too...I think it turned out perfect and I felt super crafty with my sewing machine!!

On the paper side of things, I started on a scrapbook page yesterday...its not quite done yet but its one that I'm feeling quite excited about and its been awhile since I've had that happen for me...I hope to finish it today sometime so I can show it off!!
Well, I must go because I need to make a run to JoAnne Fabrics...I'm making an Easter dress for Lily and I accidentally got the wrong size....BOO!! So, until next time enjoy my craftiness with me!! :)
